- You want to requeen a colony for a fresh laying cycle.
- You are expanding your apiary without buying a complete nuc.
Carniolan/Italian queens for North Texas
Our 2027 queens are described as Carniolan/Italian and are selected for a combination of temperament, colony growth and honey-production traits valued by Texas beekeepers.
Queen bee or 5-frame nuc?
A queen is the right purchase when you already have bees and brood resources to support a colony or split. If you need an entire established starter colony with workers, brood, food stores and a laying queen, choose a five-frame nuc.
Pickup and seasonal availability
Queen availability follows spring production and weather. Pre-order customers receive pickup information as queens become ready. If you need a queen for a specific date, call or text before ordering so we can discuss availability.
Before introducing a queen
Confirm that the colony is actually queenless or that the old queen has been removed before introducing a replacement. Give the colony time to accept the new queen and avoid disturbing the introduction process unnecessarily.
2027 queen bee FAQ
How much are queen bees?
$65 each for the 2027 season.
Can I use one for a split?
Yes. A new queen can be introduced to a properly prepared queenless split.

If you are starting from an empty hive, usually not. A five-frame nuc includes the queen plus workers, brood and food stores.
When will queens be ready?
Availability is seasonal and depends on spring weather and production.
Do you also sell complete colonies?

Excellent service and fabulous communication!! We picked up a new queen this afternoon. William took time to talk through the issues in our hive and had great advice. Looking forward to working together!!
William went out of his way to get me a queen when I needed one, and he even marked her for me. He was available and helpful after the sale to answer my questions.
Needed a queen for a struggling hive that I rescued. William met me in a couple days time with a healthy gal ready to make babies. Definitely will be using TenBox for future bee needs.
I needed 4 queens for a few splits that had to happen this weekend (July 14) and the guy I bought the nucs from didn’t have any. A quick google search showed Tenboxbeesupply to be the closest supplier with queens for sale. The best part was the front door delivery from William!
Thanks man, you saved me a trip to a queen supplier on the other side if the metromess
I needed a queen last min. William met me one night after work so I could get her into the hive. Fast, efficient and knowledgeable. He also offered to help in the future if needed .
William is very eager to share his knowledge base about bees and stands behind his products. I needed two queens and could not get them unless I was purchasing them from California. Last time I did that they arrived dead. It took the company 9 days to ship me two more queens and they arrived dead. So when I found William at Ten Box Supply I was thrilled that he could get me two mated queens that afternoon. The queens did great. I will be a loyal customer to Ten Box Suppy from now on. I highly recommend William and his services. He is honest, respectful and dedicated to your success as a bee keeper.
William was very knowledgeable to questions we had as new keepers. Very efficient in getting my order ready in time of need. Ordered 4 queens, 1 expired in two days. Will definitely call upon ten box in future. Great service.
