If you love the hooked hive tool, this is the one. It's large, has extra thick stainless steel, and is nice and long for extra leverage. The hooked end is designed to make lifting stuck frames out of the hive with a little extra leverage. The hook slides easily under the end of a frame and, with a little tilt of the hand, lifts the frame straight up for easy removal.
Beekeeping Hive tools are the essential tool that all beekeepers use. They are required for separating boxes and lifting frames out of the box. While new equipment can be easily moved and adjusted, equipment that bees live in can be difficult to separate and work with over time.
Hive tools are used to pry apart boxes and lift frames from the box. Hive tools have multiple ends designed to work in different ways. Narrow ends are used to pry boxes and frames apart and bent ends can be used to scrape comb and propolis from equipment.
I couldn’t be happier with my nuc from Ten Box Bees. The bees are calm, productive, and a pleasure to work with—exactly what I hoped for. Buying local matters to me, and I’m glad to support William and a small Texas beekeeping business. I’d happily buy from him again and recommend Ten Box Bees to anyone starting a hive or expanding their apiary. Thanks, William!
I purchased 4 nucs and have been very pleased with the health and temperament of the bees. William
